Always a fan of technology making life more fun, I noticed recently that Google have updated their photography and level of detail for our wonderful city, due to the high level of interest in the coming events. So not only can you check out the winter Olympic venues in Google Earth, but you can also see the neighbors trampoline better!
In fact the Google Earth team are so excited about the upcoming Winter Olympics, that in December they added 3D buildings for a number of venues in the Vancouver area. They have just recently published the remaining buildings, including the Whistler Olympic Park and Whistler Sliding Centre. There are over fifty buildings in total, all of them developed using Google SketchUp. Want to (virtually) experience what it feels like to stare down the ski jump? Fire-up Google Earth and steer your 3D mouse to Vancouver and Whistler!
